Sand is completely entrancing, shifting constantly, each grain rearranging itself, never really still. A constant source of fascination as it is moulded by water, tide, wind, rocks, creatures, flotsam and jetsam. These pictures were all taken at Tahunanui Beach in Nelson, New Zealand. Each one is its perfect unaltered self and will never ever be repeated. They were taken at many different times of the day and throughout the year.  They were taken when the sun was scorching the sand and in the dead of winter when a bitter southerly was frothing the waves. They each have their own magic these sand signatures.
